A Note to Visitors
This site is the Web 2.0 version of Artstream.com; founded in 1996. It enables contemporary artists and craftpeople to add their own work and for potential purchasers to make contact with them. But above all it is a place of reflection and quiet!
An Adytum is an inner sanctuary or shrine in a temple and this site aims at simplicity, order and a museum quality. Adyta in ancient Greek means “undivable” signifying great depths.
Please come inside and shelter here from the vagaries of The Internet and enjoy the depths of feeling and understanding that time spent quietly with art and craft can sometimes reward us with.
A Note to Artists and Craftspeople
We welcome you to submit your work and hope that you will find it easy to add your pieces here for visitors to enjoy. We cannot accept all contributions but we believe that all art and craft has validity and we will accept work wherever possible. Integral to this site is a way for visitors with an interest in your work to make contact with you by completing a form. Purchases of work online are still comparatively rare but art and craft is not just about commerce, it is also about communicating ideas and techniques and establishing a relationship with the viewer. Artists and craftspeople need viewers just as viewers need artists and craftspeople!
A Note about Sales or Purchases
The site has no involvement in any sale or purchase agreements and we take no commission should a sale be agreed as a result of using this site.
